Ralph:
Back when I was editor of Surfing magazine, I had an ongoing conversation with Dr. Thompson about covering the Duke Surfing Contest on Oahu’s North Shore. I was aware the you and HST were going to be in the Islands for the Honolulu Marathon and hoped he could write something for us about the contest. Unfortunately, our publisher, Clyde Packer, nixed the idea because his father was Sir Frank Packer, owner of the yacht you and HST tried to spray paint one night. Clyde’s mother was named Gretel, same as the boat.
But I digress; we have a graphic design/branding firm in Southern California (Carlsbad) and have a client for which we could use your illustrative talents for a singular illustration. What is your cost for such a piece of work?
Thank you,
Richard Dowdy
